• To create awareness about mental health and its importance in the community.
• To provide easily accessible mental health education and capacity building to 3000 children, Rs. 3,000 parents, 10-20 mental health professionals and 100 school teachers, and 20 volunteers.
• To establish a network of counselling centres in Don Bosco Institutions.
• To provide trained counsellors to provide psychological and guidance support.
• To foster a supportive environment that reduces the stigma surrounding mental health.

The project was taken up by Don Bosco Social Service Institute, Bidar, in August 2024. Currently, the selection of schools includes schools in Bidar taluk.

As part of this programme the staff visited all the schools in the urban area of Bidar taluk step by step and formed groups as mentioned above about the first lesson plan, and told the children about mental health. After the urban area was completed, we visited various villages in Bidar taluk and Aurad taluk and conducted classes on the first lesson of the mental health plan in selected schools there.

We have completed the first lesson of this mental health project in about 55 schools, and when we asked the children about it, the children were very happy to tell us what they learned about mental health and expressed their opinion. The headmaster and staff of the school also expressed their interest in this project. All the children of the selected schools and the headmaster and the staff told us that you can always come to our school and our cooperation will be with you. We have already selected 3000 children in the specific objectives given to us by this project. And we have also identified about 18 to 20 professionals, about ten volunteers, and partners from the respective villages. And we have done about three awareness programs on mental health so far. We are going to do an art, play, professional therapy, and activity-based workshop in the coming April, so we are preparing for it. According to this scheme, about 200 children should be enrolled in five groups per year, that is, there should be about 40 children in one group.

On June 5, World Environment Day was celebrated at Government Higher Primary School Santpur, Aura Taluk, District Bidar, as part of which 150 saplings were distributed. Date 18-06-2025 Bidar District Jail Bidar, Carmel Seva Trust, and Minds Team, Don Bosco Social Service Organization, Bidar, jointly organized a workshop on coping with mental health stress and anxiety.

Then on the stage were Jailer Tippanna Sir and Teacher Suresh Sir and Superintendent Dattatremedha Sir Don Bosco Director Father Steven Lawrence. And Sister Rita and Mary, Directors of Carmel Seva Trust and Don Bosco Social Service Organization, Bidar and District Jail Bidar, a workshop was organized today on coping with mental health stress and anxiety. Addressing the program, Akshay Kumar, District Coordinator of Minds Team, Don Bosco Social Service Organization, spoke about mental health, stress and anxiety management and gave a brief explanation about stress and anxiety.

The second model will start from July and from there, from two to six, with the aim of completing the model by December.
