We had been asked by the Nodal Agency BOSCO in Bangalore to be the collaborators in the Missing Child Bureau and Missing Child Search in the District of Bidar in December 2010. An office had been set up for the project with its own computer and Internet connection etc. Various awareness programmes for the villages in different parts of Bidar were organized with different types of media tools. Once the Pilot project had been a great success, the Government has asked BOSCO, the nodal Agency to start the MCBs as part of the State Government Programme in different districts of Karnataka. Each MCB was also given an office in the Government settings. Bidar MCB is presently working from the office of the DCPO.

Awareness programmes on the Missing Children as well as the on the Unaccompanied Children in the 5 Talukas of Bidar namely: Bidar, Aurad, Humnabad, Bhalki and Bhasavakalyan.

Awareness programmes were launched for the College/school teachers, Pastors, Anganwadi personnel, Students of various schools and colleges, Police Personnel, Priests and the religious Social Animators of various NGOs.

The data regarding the missing children as well as that of the unaccompanied children were uploaded onto the Home Link Software through the net and the process of tracing the children has been already underway. Government of Karnataka has taken up the MCB Project and it is funding the same in 10 districts of Karnataka from 2012 October onwards. Bidar is also one of them.
